1MachineTool vs Paste

A clipboard manager for every Apple device, or clipboard history inside an app that runs on your Mac and, soon, your PC.

Checked against Paste’s own site, 18 October 2026

Short answer

Paste wins if you need your clipboard on your iPhone. 1MachineTool wins if you want clipboard history on your computers without another subscription.

  • Paste is $29.99 a year and syncs Mac, iPhone and iPad through iCloud. 1MachineTool has no iPhone app.
  • Both keep text, images, files and links searchable and skip passwords. 1MachineTool encrypts history at rest.
  • Paste has pinboards and a paste stack. 1MachineTool leaves those out, but adds ten other tools for the same price as one year of Paste.

Two ways to do the job.

1MachineTool

Clipboard history for text, rich text, images, files, links and colours, encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM). Secure fields and ignored apps are never recorded. Free keeps 7 days; Pro keeps everything.

Paste

Paste Team's clipboard manager for Mac, iPhone, iPad and Vision Pro: unlimited history, search including text in images, filters, pinboards, Paste Stack, an iOS keyboard and an MCP server. $29.99 a year, Lifetime $99.99 on the App Store.

Which one is for you.

Choose 1MachineTool if

  • You want clipboard history on your computers, not your phone.
  • You'd rather pay once.
  • You'll use the other tools: launcher, window snapping, monitor, cleaner.

Choose Paste if

  • You copy on your Mac and paste on your iPhone.
  • You organise snippets into pinboards.
  • You want an iOS keyboard for your clips.

Questions.

Does 1MachineTool sync the clipboard between machines?

Your setup (hotkeys, snippets, layouts, scenes) is carried across machines with Plus. Clipboard history stays on each machine for now.

Does it record passwords?

No. Secure input fields are never recorded, password managers are ignored by default, and history is encrypted on disk.

How much is Paste?

$29.99 a year on both Paste's pricing page and the Mac App Store in October 2026. Monthly pricing differs by store ($2.49 on the website, $3.99 on the App Store), and Lifetime is $99.99 on the App Store.
